Love Is the Disease (Most Worth Having) chronicles the lives of Rosie, Gus, Zoe and Jake, four children growing up in small town Australia, the prejudices they suffer, and their first sexual encounters together. At age 25, they escape to California after two of them commit an unspeakable crime.

There they pledge not to see one another, except for one week every ten years. They agree to meet in Paris, then Madrid, finally in Athens, where the pact will end. Certain facts about their pasts, the fatal event that drove them out, and the intervening years, are revealed in these cities by the four. But someone has led Rosie and Zoe to break the pact. They met secretly, unbeknownst to Gus and Jake, yet fear they are being spied upon. When the treaty expires in Athens, thirty years later, the years have taken their toll. Nothing is reconciled, but Gus manages, by devious means, to eventually win them all back to live out their days with him on the island of Crete.

Darryl Kennedy grew up in New Zealand and now resides in Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. He has been writing for over a decade and has found inspiration in fiction writers, world travel, and language.
